I’m a writer who’s been working since 1995.

No joke, they were still cutting type at my first agency job.

Back then, there was just print, radio, TV, billboards, and mail.

Sure, the Internet existed, but there were only three websites.

TBH, I’ve done a lot over the decades.

So much so I’ve forgotten most of it.

SAMSUNG MOBILE | BRAND GUIDE

2012

I was part of the team that created the company’s first-ever brand guidelines. My role was writing the ethos and pathos, as well as all of the directives. VIEW

AT&T | PRODUCT STRATEGY

2012

I drafted the pitch and vision video script meant to sell AT&T executives on a web-based TV service a la Sling or Roku (which didn’t yet exist). VIEW WATCH

AT&T | BANNER AD

2011

I always tried to squeeze as much interactivity out of Flash ads as I could, hence this choose-your-own-adventure approach complete with mouseovers. VIEW

ADT | BANNER AD

2010

I devised this interactive ad unit that provided free crime reports to website visitors. It departed from their standard “price” ads that provided zero motivation to click. VIEW

HOME DEPOT | BANNER AD

2008

I had the idea for an entire XML-fed campaign that counted down to weekend projects in real time. It provided a nice sense of urgency. VIEW

VARIOUS CLIENTS | DIRECT MAIL

2000 - 2003

Mail was email before email was cool, and my copy almost always beat the control mailings. VIEW

AT&T Broadband | TV

2002

My client wanted a basic promo, but I was able to pitch them something more narrative. WATCH

VARIOUS CLIENTS | RADIO

2001

Radio is a bit passé, but I’ve always loved its “theater of the mind.” Here are four telecom ads I wrote. LISTEN

DELCHAMPS SUPERMARKET | TV

1997

This spot introduced an expanded customer savings program, which was a relatively new thing at the time. WATCH

STATE FAIR OF VA | TV

1996

To coincide with the ‘96 Olympics, I came up with this “Chariots of Fire” parody/homage to sell tickets. WATCH
